Insurance

Out of Network:

We Make it EASY!

All patients pay their full session fee at the time of service and, upon request, will be provided with what is called a superbill.

Patient’s then submit the superbill to their insurance company for reimbursement of their session.

Many clients (especially those with a PPO) are surprised to learn that they can receive, on average, 40-80% of their session fee back in the form of a reimbursement following their deductible being met.

We recognize this process can be confusing, which is why we are happy to coach you through the process.

We want to make payment and reimbursement as easy and stress free as possible!

Reasons you may want to opt out of utilizing your insurance:

  1. Claims are not submitted to insurance, therefore no diagnosis is given which can be beneficial for some clients depending on job clearance and security or divorce/court circumstances.

  2. Insurance companies will not be able to dictate your length of time in treatment. Diagnosis must meet medical necessity in order to be covered and sometimes insurance companies will give an allowed number of sessions.

  3. Insurance may not cover telehealth sessions.

Sliding Scale/Reduced Rate

We recognize that reimbursement is not a reality for all patients. This is where sliding scale fees come in handy.

If you are struggling financially and in need of support, please inquire if there are any sliding scale spots reserved for those who are in need a reduced rate!

We frequently have talented and highly supervised interns on staff as well that can be a great choice for those in need of a lower cost.

If neither option is available, we can also refer you to some non-profit and community programs that may be able to help. If we are not the right fit we want to try our best to refer you to someone who is!

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.

  • You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Late Cancellations and Arrivals

All Patients are subject to a full fee charge upon late cancellation or after missing an appointment.

A cancellation is considered to be late when a patient informs the therapist less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment.

Insurance companies do not reimburse for missed session.

Each session is billed for a full session fee and is not pro-rated based on arrival time.
